Advanced Scientific Calculator for Mac OS X
On-Line Help
Setting Preferences
Pushing the prefs button pops out a drawer and allows you to set several options:
- Number of Decimal Places - adjusting the slider dynamically changes the display of numbers in the stack.
- Use Thousands Separator - check this if you like your numbers displayed with a thousands separator.
- Use Scientific Notation - check this option if you prefer to have numbers on the stack displayed in scientific notation. The slider controls the threshold for displaying numbers using this notation. As an example, with the slider set to 1e+06, the stack will display all numbers greater than or equal to 1,000,000 as well as all numbers equal to or smaller than 0.00001 in scientific notation.
- Editing Constants - Pull down the Constants pop-up menu from the tool bar and select the "Edit Constants..." menu item. This will display a sheet allowing the user to provide a name and a value for the constant. Also, unwanted or unused constants can be deleted from the list by selecting the item in the table and clicking the "Delete" button.
- Numeric Display Colors - Clicking on the color wells changes the display color for the corresponding numeric display mode.
These settings are always saved each time the application is quit.
